About

Carrie Adeline

Metier de Joie de vivre

I am a Florida Girl, raised on Anna Maria Island, well read and educated with a heart for learning and service. My love for reading, learning and books was fostered at a young age. Our island home featured a loft library atop the old winding staircase where the all the beautiful classics lay waiting for me to discover. It may be cliché to claim my mother’s influence as the most important upon my life. The fact that a mother has the greatest impact upon child’s life seems to continue long into adulthood and supersedes even in her death. My Mother, Connie, was an amazingly strong and loving person whose simplistic ideology, devout work ethic and empathetic principles left a deep mark upon my soul. My mother and I are/ were so very close that it’s hard to write about her in the past tense, I feel her here with me still. She never met stranger, she feared nothing (not even leukemia that stole her health) never gave up and encouraged others to take a chance and live a balanced lifestyle. Learning is my lifestyle. I am known for taking on new subjects or revisiting past passions in the name of “I need to know.” You can be sure that if I come across a subject I am unfamiliar with, I will delve into it, as curiosity would kill me if I didn’t. I love research and have written fine academic papers, but I never really considered myself to be a writer or tenacious author.  Yet even as I write this, I know there is a book buried inside, just waiting for me to write it expressively. The thought of a career centered in reading is completely enticing, something I never really considered before now.
